The Kids of Africa Children’s Village in Bwerenga offers a unique place to stay right at the heart of a long-established children’s charity.

Located close to Entebbe International Airport and directly on the shores of Lake Victoria, the village allows guests to experience everyday life within Kids of Africa in a respectful and authentic way. Simple, comfortable accommodation, a welcoming community and a calm environment make this a meaningful alternative to conventional travel.

Overnight stays at the Kids of Africa Children’s Village are offered in three dedicated guest houses located within the village compound.

The accommodation is simple, clean and functional Designed for guests who value calm, safety and authenticity over luxury. All three guest houses provide a quiet retreat while remaining close to everyday life at the village.

Electricity and safe drinking water are available. As in many parts of Uganda, occasional power outages can occur and are part of daily life.

This is not hotel accommodation. It is a respectful place to stay within an active children’s village.

Each room has a bunk bed and a single bed. For larger groups, extra mattresses can be provided on request.

It is less suitable for guests seeking luxury, nightlife or resort-style amenities.

Where do guests stay?

Guests stay in three dedicated guest houses located within the Kids of Africa Village.
Overnight stays in family houses are not possible.

The guest houses offer simple, clean and functional accommodation in a quiet setting.

Is it safe to stay at the village?

Yes. The Kids of Africa Village is a well-established and secure compound close to Entebbe.
Staff are present at all times, and the village is accustomed to welcoming international visitors.

How close is the village to Entebbe Airport?

The village is located very close to Entebbe International Airport, making it ideal for arrival or departure days.

Airport transfers can be arranged on request.

Can I interact with the children?

Yes – interaction happens naturally in shared spaces and during daily activities.
However, Kids of Africa follows strict child-protection guidelines. Visitors are asked to:

  • Respect personal boundaries
  • Follow rules
  • Avoid unsupervised or private interactions

These guidelines are explained before or upon arrival.

Are meals included?

Meals can be arranged depending on availability and prior agreement.

Please inform us in advance about dietary requirements or preferences.

Is there electricity, internet and drinking water?
  • Electricity is available, but occasional outages can occur
  • Safe drinking water is provided
  • Internet access may be limited and should not be relied upon for continuous work

Many guests appreciate this as an opportunity for a digital break.

What should I wear?

Uganda is culturally conservative, especially within a children’s village.

Further guidance is provided before arrival.

Can I volunteer during my stay?

Short-term volunteering is generally not offered during guest stays.

Kids of Africa focuses on long-term, structured involvement to protect the children and ensure continuity. Guests are welcome to observe, learn and engage respectfully.

Can my stay be combined with travel or tours?

Yes. We are happy to help organize:

  • Community walks and local visits
  • Lake Victoria activities
  • Safaris to national parks
  • Longer journeys including the Forest Farm in Buhweju
